If your lawn has real hills, the field narrows fast. Most wire-free mowers state a maximum slope of 45% (24°). The Mammotion LUBA 3 AWD states 80% (38.6°) and the Segway Navimow X4 states 84% (40°). Here is how they compare on paper, using only each brand’s official US page.
What about the LUBA 2? As of October 24, 2026, Mammotion’s US store no longer lists the LUBA 2 AWD for sale; the LUBA 3 AWD is the current full-size model. If you find a LUBA 2 elsewhere, compare its spec sheet against the table below.

Where each one makes sense (our read of the specs)
Pick the LUBA 3 AWD if your yard has trees, buildings or shaded strips. Its LiDAR adds a positioning source that doesn’t depend on satellites, which is the classic weakness of RTK-only mapping. It also comes in a smaller 0.37-acre size, so you don’t pay for 1+ acre if you have a steep but modest lawn. The High Version suits people who mow tall.
Pick the Navimow X4 if you have a large, open, hilly property. It states the steepest slope on our list, the widest cut (17 in), and the two variants start at 1.0 acre. Navimow includes network RTK and cellular data at no extra cost, plus 1 to 2 years of Connect+.
Either way: a brand’s maximum slope is measured in good conditions. If your steepest patch is within about 10 points of the limit, or often wet, expect trouble there. You can usually draw that patch as a no-go zone.
Price per rated acre (our math)
Using the prices above: LUBA 3 AWD 5000 = $3,299 ÷ 1.25 acre ≈ $2,639 per acre; Navimow X450 = $2,999 ÷ 1.5 acre ≈ $1,999 per acre. For smaller lawns the comparison flips because the X4 has no variant under 1 acre: the LUBA 3 AWD 1500 is $2,399 for 0.37 acre.
Bottom line
For trees plus hills, the spec sheet favors the LUBA 3 AWD’s LiDAR fusion. For big, open hills, the X4 offers more rated area per dollar and a slightly higher stated slope.
